Academy Medical
When I was hired by Academy Medical, they were in desperate need of an online “image” overhaul. Their original site was poorly designed and distracted users from what they actually do. Their new website utilizes a template purchased from a local Gainesville, FL company called Austin Michael. Even with a template, there was still a fair amount of work required to make it work for Academy Medical. First, I sat down with the owner and discussed what he wants the website to be… who should the focus audience be. It’s a much tougher question than you’d think.Designing a page that targeted towards doctors/surgeons is much different than designing for actual patients. Afterward, we decided to focus more on the doctors/surgeons as they are the individuals that they sell to. However, we couldn’t ignore the patient: so we offered some resources for them as well.
When you first enter their website you’re instantly shown which manufacturers they sell and a short background information about the company. If a visitor wishes to dig deeper, they can go to the Products page or the Our Team page.
In addition to their homepage, I was also tasked with developing their back-office application that would track inventory, invoices, cases, and implants. Because most of this information is confidential, I can only show a screen shot of the “Create Case” page.
